Meinl Byzance at dD Drums: We know it hasn’t been long since we last wrote a blog about a visit to Meinl but we were lucky enough to be back in Gutenstetten a few weeks ago. Unlike our spur-of-the-moment trip to Meinl’s Drum Festival which you can read about here, this trip was actually in the works for a few months.

As with the last trip to Germany, we were welcomed and looked after extraordinarily well from the moment we landed in Nuremberg with the awesome Ben from D’Addario UK. This was a quick trip – we spent less than 24 hours in Germany, but every moment was as enjoyable as the festival a few weeks previous.

We’re sure you’ve noticed by now but we’ve recently became the Meinl Byzance Centre for Scotland. This in itself is hugely exciting for us, but a key part of becoming a Centre is flying to Germany to hand select our entire stock of Byzance cymbals. As renowned cymbal geeks this made us extremely happy!

Each and every cymbal we selected will be lazed-engraved with Hand Picked by dD Drums. Again, this is obviously an exciting element of the process for us, but more than that it instilled a responsibility for us to select the very best cymbals we could get our hands on. This means you can be sure that every cymbal engraved with our logo has been painstaking selected from the thousands available at the Meinl Factory.

We’re passionate about unique and quality products in age where so many companies (including big brands) are selling inferior products at every price point.

Meinl are a hugely impressive and inspiring company to be working with. They work on a family vibe which mirrors how we like to run our shop. The quality of the cymbals is genuinely unlike anything we’ve played before – from the entry level HCS to the hand-hammered Byzance series.

Keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook Page to see when we’re launching these awesome cymbals. There is a photo album on our page here if you want to see some more on the cymbals we’ve picked.

We’re proud to be working with Meinl and we genuinely can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve got coming to the shop!
